From Fundamental Research to Tomorrow’s Innovations
Founded in 2012 by Prof. Y. BEN-ARI, Neurochlore is a pioneering startup dedicated to studying the fundamental mechanisms of the brain. Through a unique approach—particularly via the concepts of Neuroarchaeology and GABAergic Polarity—Neurochlore has shed new light on the crucial role of the excitation/inhibition balance in the development of a functional brain. This balance is essential for proper brain function, and its disruption is often observed in various neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism, as well as in other brain conditions, including tumors.
Building on this strong scientific foundation, Neurochlore has expanded its core fundamental expertise to support two ambitious startups:
B&A Oncomedical, which is developing a groundbreaking approach combining two anti-cancer molecules to treat brain tumors.
Projects supported by Neurochlore

Using artificial intelligence to identify responders to Bumetanide
Towards a Targeted and Optimized Response to the Heterogeneity and Complexity of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

An Innovative Approach to Treating Brain Tumors
Towards a Synergistic Therapeutic Approach Targeting Neuronal Hyperexcitability in Aggressive Brain Tumors.
Our Pillars of Fundamental Research
At Neurochlore, research is at the heart of our mission. Since our creation, we have studied the fundamental mechanisms of brain development, particularly during pregnancy, childbirth, and the early years of life. These crucial phases for an individual’s future are key to understanding the disruptions that may lead to neurodevelopmental disorders.
